Job summary

Rosecrance Behavioral Health in Aspen Clinic (on site) seeks staff to directly supervise clients and assist psychiatric providers with health history and assessments. You will room clients, provide health screenings, and coordinate with primary care providers to ensure safe, ethical care in a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with addiction treatment experience or equivalent
CNA, CMA, EMT or higher certification required
CPR and First Aid training completed within 3 months
Basic proficiency in computer use including Microsoft Office and documentation
Skilled in behavioral management techniques
Ability to lead discussion and educational presentations
Valid Illinois driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements

Responsibilities

Work hours prescribed by leadership and additional hours as needed
Conduct health history/assessment and report to provider prior to appointment
Assist with vital signs and communicate medical concerns
Monitor and document patient response to medication
Advise and advocate for clients to staff
Educate clients on medications, health and substance use issues
Schedule follow-up medical appointments as needed
Document information in the electronic health record
Attend staff, nursing and committee meetings
Comply with Rosecrance policies and HIPAA requirements
Deliver exceptional customer service and act as role model
Perform CLIA-waived lab testing and quality control as required

Position Summary

Directly supervise clients while assisting psychiatric providers with client health history/assessment at psychiatric appointments. Rooming of clients prior to provider appointments. Provide brief health screenings to program clients to determine appropriate linkages to primary care and work closely with their Primary Care Provider (or arrange for PCP assignment). Provide continuity of program services in an ethical, legal, and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and demonstrated addiction treatment experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Possess a CNA, CMA, EMT certification, or higher
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid training complete within three months
Basic proficiency in computer use, including navigating operating systems, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, and managing files and documentation
Skilled in behavioral management techniques
Ability to lead discussion and educational presentations
Valid Illinois driver's license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements

Responsibilities

Work hours prescribed by leadership and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.
Conduct client health history/assessment and report to psychiatric provider prior to appointment.
Assist with vital signs assessments and communicate with clients with ongoing medical concerns.
Monitor and document client’s response to medication and report any notable response immediately.
Act as an advocate for all clients and report any physical/psychological concerns to the medical and clinical staff.
Provide client education in individual and group settings on topics including: medications, physical health, mental health and alcohol and substance abuse issues.
Schedule clients follow up medical appointments if necessary.
Document pertinent information in the electronic health record based on observations and involvement with the clients.
Attend all scheduled meetings of staff, such as nursing meetings, department meetings, or appropriate committee meetings as designated.
Understand and comply with all the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program, Code of Conduct and HIPAA regulations.
Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
Serve as a role model for other staff, clients, and customers.
Demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
Assume other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
As assigned, performs CLIA-waived laboratory testing and related quality control activities in accordance with CLIA requirements, manufacturer instructions, infection control protocols, and organizational procedures.

Starting Pay: $18.43 hour (based on education, experience, and credentials)
