Qualifications

Role Description

The Medical Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Richmond, VA with 1 scheduled on-site day in Williamsburg, VA. This position supports physicians and clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, taking and documenting vital signs, updating patient histories, and assisting with clinical procedures. Daily responsibilities include managing patient flow, coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring charts are complete and up to date. The Medical Assistant will also handle standard medical office tasks such as verifying patient information, supporting front desk operations as needed, and reinforcing patient instructions and education. The role requires consistent adherence to safety, privacy, and infection control standards while contributing to a positive, efficient patient experience.


Qualifications


  • Candidates should possess strong Medical Assisting skills, including rooming patients, obtaining vitals, and assisting with in-office procedures.

  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately document visits and communicate effectively with clinical staff.

  • Candidates should possess experience in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and basic administrative tasks.

  • Candidates should possess Patient Care skills focused on professionalism, empathy, and clear communication with individuals of diverse backgrounds.

  • Candidates should possess proficiency in handling Medical Records, including electronic health records (EHR) use, documentation accuracy, and confidentiality compliance.

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current certification (such as CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to evolving practice needs.
