Position Overview

Full Time Medical Assistant supporting quality healthcare delivery at our Renton, WA HealthHub.

Position Summary

As a Medical Assistant at MinuteClinic, you'll be on the front lines of care making a meaningful difference in patients' lives every day. In this fast‑paced and collaborative environment, you'll use your clinical expertise and critical‑thinking skills to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care. From assessing patient needs and administering vaccines to partnering with interdisciplinary teams, you’ll play a key role in improving health outcomes and creating a caring, trusted experience for every patient you serve.

Responsibilities

Patient registration and intake by accurately documenting patient medical history—illnesses, medications, allergies, surgeries, family history—using electronic health records; managing wait‑room flow; administering mental health assessments to screen for depression and evaluate mood, behavior, and cognitive function; evaluating complex patient conditions; monitoring pain levels and vital signs; performing routine assessments; documenting treatment responses; conducting medication reviews for potential side effects and drug interactions.

  • Attend staff meetings, training, and continuing education as required.
  • Manage patient access to healthcare and connect individuals with community resources for medication administration, self‑care techniques, and disease management.
  • Use excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Qualifications
  • Obtain and maintain full, active and unrestricted license(s) in the State for which the MA provides services.
  • Obtain and maintain credentialing and re‑credentialing requirements as necessary.
  • Maintain an Active BLS Certification to administer Basic Life Support (BLS) and other Life‑Saving Measures, including but not limited to performing CPR and operating an AED.
  • Experience with documentation of care, medication administration, infection control precautions, patient education, physical assessment, vital signs, point‑of‑care testing and care coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients and the clinical care team.
  • Demonstrates initiative, problem‑solving ability, adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.
  • Physical presence in a retail/clinic setting is required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands and arms for clinical tasks, and to position patients and equipment.
  • Requires sufficient visual acuity (including close vision) and manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures and operate computers and clinical equipment.
  • May involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials; training and PPE will be provided; infection control procedures must be followed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Primary Care, Urgent Care or Emergency Room.
  • Experience documenting within an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system such as Epic.
  • Previous phlebotomy, vaccine administration and point‑of‑care experience.
  • Previous experience with patient registration.
  • Experience working in a clinical setting with diverse cultural dynamics among staff and patients.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
Education

Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $18.50 - $42.35 per hour. This represents the base hourly rate for all positions in this job grade; the actual offer will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors. The position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range.
