Job summary

Prime Occupational Medicine is seeking a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant to support on-site events and clinics. You will verify patient histories, perform screenings and tests, collect specimens, and assist physicians in procedures.

Role requires strong confidentiality, reliability, and communication skills; you must maintain accurate records and work across PRIME locations with potential on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or equivalent
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant required

Responsibilities

• Provide information, services, and assistance to clients at PRIME on-site events and clinics.
• Maintains medical supplies inventory and performs preventive maintenance of equipment, including sterilization of instruments.
• Verifies patient information and medical histories by interviewing patients and documenting history.
• Prepares patients for examination with preliminary tests and screenings (drug/alcohol, audiograms, EKGs, PFT, respirator fit).
• Saves doctors’ time by assisting with office procedures.
• Assist in injury care.
• Perform phlebotomy and injections.
• Secure patient information and maintain records in compliance with laws.
• Update and file medical records per state and federal requirements.
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment; comply with policies and regulations.
• Keep supplies stocked; manage orders and receipts.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Update knowledge through education and publications.
• Adhere to professional standards and local requirements; support practice reputation.
• Take and record messages.
• Be available for on-call and travel to PRIME locations.
• May work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide information, services, and assistance to clients and patients at PRIME on-site events and various PRIME Clinics.
• Maintains medical supplies inventory and performs preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating, including sterilization of medical instruments..
• Verifies patient information, medical histories by interviewing patients, documenting medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
• Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; drug & alcohol screening, audiograms, EKG's, pulmonary function test, respirator fit test; and reporting patient history summary.
• Saves doctors' time by helping with office procedures.
• Assist in injury care
• Perform phlebotomy service and give injections.
• Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential.
• Updating and filing medical records according to State and Federal laws.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Must be a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or equivalent
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant required

Physical Demands: Sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 50 pounds. Repetitive motion. Extensive use of computers, copy machines, and keyboards. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Work is performed in a medical clinic setting and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry parcels, packages, and other items, to walk short distances, climb stairs, and drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials.
