Cornerstone Care is seeking a Medical Assistant at Hilltop location in Pittsburgh, PA 15211. The role includes clinical and administrative duties, from welcoming patients and recording vitals in the EHR to specimen collection and assisting with examinations.

Responsibilities span patient intake, specimen handling, lab coordination, and front desk support, with an emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and teamwork. This is a full-time position with Day shift responsibilities and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

Job Details: Hilltop Community Health Center - Pittsburgh, PA 15211; Full Time; High School; $19.50 - $21.50 hourly; Day shift; up to 25% travel.

Cornerstone Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our Hilltop location. The successful candidate will perform clinical and administrative duties such as welcoming and rooming patients, recording patient data in the EHR, collecting and labeling specimens, assisting providers with physical examinations and procedures, calling to follow up on patient lab results and referrals, and other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager.

Responsibilities

• Clinical
  • Welcome patients courteously.
  • Acquire accurate preliminary visit data (height, weight, vital signs, age, reason for visit) and record it in the patient record.
  • Collect and label specimens for laboratory, complete lab requisition forms.
  • Assist providers with physical examinations and procedures.
  • Perform procedures under provider supervision (ear lavage, injections, vision, hearing, EKG, venipuncture, TB Tine, etc.).
  • Maintain clean environment in patient rooms and lab before and after each patient.
  • Disinfect/sterilize appropriate instruments daily.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of supplies, complete requisition as needed.
  • Check exam rooms each am/pm, turning equipment on/off.
  • Call patients on normal results.
• Miscellaneous
  • Refer patients to front desk for conclusion of visit.
  • Pull charts daily for lab results, record results in log before provider review.
  • File all correspondence, lab work, charts daily.
  • Schedule appointments for referrals, record accurately in referral log, update log as reports are received.
  • Copy charts for referrals and release.
  • Call for lab and/or x-ray reports as needed.
  • Assist Receptionist and perform front desk duties as necessary.
  • Uphold patient and professional confidentiality.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• Computer proficiency is a must.
