Job summary

Maricopa County's Correctional Health division seeks a Medical Assistant to join our nursing team in providing medically necessary care to patients within the judicial system. You will perform front- and back-office duties, venipuncture, EKGs, and vital signs under physician supervision.

We offer overtime eligibility, shift differential pay (3:00pm - 11:00pm +$1.25/hr; 11:00pm - 7:00am +$2.00/hr), comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth with the county retirement system.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a medical assistant performing front- and back-office duties.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion from an accredited healthcare training program.
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from the American Medical Technologists.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Performs front- and back-office medical assistant duties under supervision.
• Completes required documentation in the electronic health record.
• Verifies health information with outside healthcare organizations.
• Handles office tasks: copying, filing, scanning, scheduling, and document prep.
• Responds to clinical calls in person, by phone, and online.
• Maintains patient confidentiality in all communications.
