Job summary

Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Associates is seeking a Medical Assistant to support pulmonary and sleep physicians in our outpatient clinics across the Denver metro area. Under supervision, you will perform routine clinical tasks to deliver safe patient care and help maintain a collaborative, patient-centered clinic culture.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program graduate with about 1+ year of experience, HIPAA-conscious practices, and proficiency in EMR and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Successful graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Respect patient privacy by maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients in a professional and timely manner.
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, injections, and other clinical tasks as directed by physicians and APPs.
  • Reconcile patient charts with medical history and medications.
  • Prepare charts and ensure up-to-date information before visits.
  • Assist Care Coordination to maintain clinic flow.
  • Manage orders, prior authorizations, and prescription refill requests.
  • Answer calls, return voicemails, and route to staff.
  • Assist with scheduling follow-ups and maintain clinic rooms and supplies.

Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Associates is a multispecialty private physician practice, providing Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep medical services to the Denver metro area for over 40 years. Our dedicated team of Board Certified Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Physicians along with our skilled clinical and administrative staff exclusively serve nine Common Spirit and AdventHealth Hospital ICU’s and multiple outpatient clinic locations spanning Colorado’s front range. CCPSA’s organizational culture exemplifies excellence in patient centered care, unified teamwork, and a highly collaborative approach in all business and clinical operations. We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant
to join our committed team of professionals.

The Medical Assistant position isresponsible for supportingourPulmonary and SleepPhysicians and Advanced Practice Providerswithin our outpatientclinics. Under direct supervision,Medical Assistantsperform a variety of routineclinical services todeliver safe and appropriate patient care, within the scope of theirpractice and established policies and procedures.It is necessary that within this role, employees cultivate and supporta strong team culture, as well as a collaborative environment centered on consistently delivering exceptional patient care.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Room patientsin professional and timely manner.
  • Complete vitals, perform blood draws, giveinjections,andobtain specimens, and perform clinical taskssuch as spirometry, oxygen titration, etc.as directed by Physicians and APPs.
  • Reconcile patient chart with medical history, immunizations, medications, and other relevant medical information.
  • Completes chart preparation to ensure accurate and up-to-date patient information before visits.
  • Assist Patient Care Coordinator team to ensure smooth operational flow of the clinic schedule.
  • Manages orders, including prior authorizations.
  • Manages prescription refill requests (excluding specialty meds and controlled substances).
  • Answer incoming phone calls, return voicemails, and route calls to appropriate staff members.
  • Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Clean and maintain clinical/procedural equipment, exam rooms and work stations.
  • Prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies, while ensuring supplies are properly stocked.
  • This position may require travel to our other outpatient clinics in the Denver-metro area as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Clinic Leadership.
Skills, Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Successful graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Programrequired.
  • Approximately 1+ years Medical Assisting experience.
  • RMA or CMA preferred.
  • Respect patient privacy by maintaining confidentiality in accordance to HIPAA requirements.
  • Excellent organizationsand time management skills.
  • Patient centered focus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the
  • ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to drive between clinic locations for meetings.
  • Ability to sit for extended time periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
