Job summary

Gulf Coast Heart and Vascular LLC in Florida is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. You will prepare for patient visits by organizing charts, pulling notes, and assisting nurses and medical staff.

You will also help manage inventory, set up machines and testing equipment, track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties. This 32-hour position runs Monday through Friday, with two days in Chipley and two days in Panama City.

Qualifications

• BLS Certification or CMA preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills.
• Experience in the medical field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for the patient visit by pulling charts and notes and setting up medical equipment.
• Clean instruments and equipment after use.
• Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs.
• Assist nurses and doctors with basic medical care and procedures.
• Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties.
• Obtain insurance prior-authorizations.
• Schedule procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

You will also be helping manage the inventory of medical supplies, setting up machines and testing equipment, and cleaning instruments and rooms as needed. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, an interest in learning more about a working medical environment, and has previous office experience.
