Specialty Orthopedic Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our orthopedic clinic. The role is Monday-Friday, full time, with potential to commute to other clinics as needed.

You will assist providers, document patient histories, schedule appointments, and support front-desk activities while upholding clinic standards and professional nursing practices. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of clinic experience and is proficient with computers, scheduling, and patient communications.

Qualifications

  • 1 year clinic experience preferred.
  • Training or experience treating patients in a clinical setting.
  • Cooperative attitude toward coworkers, management, patients, and physicians.
  • Ability to promote a positive clinic image with physicians, patients, insurers and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the supervision of a Provider and maintains professional nursing standards of care.
  • Charts in notes accurately and timely; documents patient progress and activities.
  • Interview patients and document basic medical history.
  • Organize and schedule appointments.
  • Check with patients and type up patient charts.
  • Produce and distribute memos, letters, faxes and forms.
  • Returns patient calls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Specialty Orthopedic Group is currently seeking aMedical Assistantto join our clinic.This position will be Monday-Friday, full time. Candidate must be willing to commute to other clinics as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

The MA provides basic medical care to patients in an orthopedic clinic; maintains standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with clinic policy and procedures; provides for the safe and efficient dispensing of doses of medication to patients consistent with the organization's procedure and as ordered by the Physician; responsible for thorough, accurate reporting and documentation of the patient's symptoms, responses and progress. Must be proficient on computer, scheduling, and have excellent phone etiquette.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works under the supervision of Provider and maintains practical nursing professional standards of care
  • Charts in notes accurately and in a timely manner, documents provided, maintain appropriate records related to patient’s progress and activities accurately and in a timely manner
  • Interview patients and document basic medical history
  • Organize and schedule appointments

  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
  • Returns patient calls
  • Perform other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
