Job summary

MD Now Urgent Care in Florida seeks a Clinical Medical Assistant to support patient care, take histories and vital signs, and prepare exam rooms for procedures. You will assist physicians with exams and treatments while ensuring supplies are ready.

The role involves injections, labs, phlebotomy, and patient referrals. Experience with EHRs, travel between MD Now locations, and teamwork are valued attributes.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in a clinical patient setting preferred.
• Experience using an EHR system is helpful.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program (BOTP) required.
• AAMA certification is helpful.
• Ability to obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening within 30 days of start preferred.
• BLS/CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies/equipment; sterilization.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care.
• Coordinate employee physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts.
• Screen calls for referral to physicians.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Medical Assistant, you will:

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs
• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care
• Coordinate patient physicals and work place injuries for partner accounts
• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners
• Willing to travel/float between all MD Now locations within assigned Area preferred

You Should Have:

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred
• Experience using an EHR system is very helpful
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful
• The ability to obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
