Job summary

Riverchase Dermatology is hiring a Medical Assistant for our North Port, FL team. The role involves supporting providers during patient visits, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with surgical procedures. You will maintain accurate records in the EMR and help with consents and prescription calls.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and able to multitask across locations. Dermatology experience is preferred; willing to travel between clinic sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Preferred MA Certification, CST license, or LPN.
• Hands-on experience in a clinical setting; dermatology experience preferred.
• Ability to travel between locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers during patient visits, including consults and procedures.
• Greet patients and prepare them for examinations and treatments.
• Provide hands-on assistance with surgical procedures.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain clean, organized exam rooms.
• Review medical history, maintain patient records, and document in EMR.
• Obtain necessary consents and assist with prescription calls and administrative duties.

Who are we looking for a Medical Assistant?

The ideal Medical Assistantcandidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multi-task. The MA is responsible for assisting the Provider with patient visits, including consultative and surgical procedures.

Medical AssistantPrimary Duties:

• Assisting providers in providing quality care to patients.


• Greeting and preparing patients for examinations and treatments.


• Providing side-by-side assistance with surgical procedures.


• Assist with sterilizing instruments and ensuring cleanliness and organization of exam rooms.


• Reviewing medical history, maintaining patient records and documentation accurately and confidentially and maintaining notes in EMR system.


• Obtaining appropriate consents when necessary.


• Calling in prescriptions, performing patient call backs and handling administrative duties when necessary.

Medical Assistant Skills and Qualities:

• Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers


• Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice


• Proficient communication skills (written and verbal)


• Able to travel between locations

Experience and Education:

• Preferred Medical Assistant (MA) Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) License, or LPN


• Hands-on experience in a clinical setting, Will train the right candidate


• Dermatology or surgical experience is preferred, not required
