Job summary

Quality Talent Group is recruiting for a Medical Assistant to support a leading healthcare network in Ohio. The role involves assisting physicians, managing patient flow, and documenting medical history, vital signs, and medications in the EMR.

A strong emphasis is placed on accuracy, confidentiality, and patient-centered care. Responsibilities include handling pre-certifications, phlebotomy, EKGs, and coordinating with pharmacies and insurers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and Medical Assistant program completion or relevant experience.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Strong computer, communication, and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with examination and treatment of patients under physician direction.
  • Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
  • Record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing records.
  • Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
  • Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurers.
  • Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired medications, and order supplies.
  • Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
  • Obtain pertinent medical information to support decision-making per office protocols.
  • Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in/out.
  • Manage EMR/Practice Management tasks, workflow logs, work queues, and related office tasks.
  • Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
  • Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment for routine tests.
  • Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
  • May assist with training new employees or oversee work queues in the office.
