Qualifications

  • Current Basic Life Support certification required at hire.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support throughout the patient journey, from pre-operative preparation and routine clinic visits through post-operative care.

Working closely with providers, nurses, and the clinical team, the Medical Assistant supports efficient patient flow, prepares rooms, obtains and documents clinical information, assists with patient education, maintains supplies, and supports patient care within the employee's training, competency, and lawful scope of practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet and room patients while supporting a professional, welcoming patient experience.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and other permitted intake information; update medication and allergy records according to established procedures.
  • Prepare consultation, examination, treatment, pre-operative, and post-operative areas.
  • Support approved pre-operative and post-operative workflows and reinforce authorized patient instructions under appropriate clinical supervision.
  • Take clinical photographs in accordance with Company procedures and patient authorization requirements.
  • Prepare dressings, garments, equipment, supplies, and other patient-care materials.
  • Clean and disinfect patient-care areas between patients and maintain room readiness.
  • Receive, organize, and stock clinical supplies; monitor inventory levels and expiration dates.
  • Document accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.
  • Assist nurses and providers with appropriately delegated tasks within training and competency.
  • Perform blood draws only when appropriately certified, trained, and authorized; this role does not perform injections.
  • Assist licensed clinical staff with suture removal and dressing changes; do not perform these activities independently.
  • Handle specimens and support sterilization or instrument processing only when trained and authorized.
  • Follow infection-prevention, bloodborne-pathogen, sharps-safety, and PPE requirements.
  • Immediately report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to licensed clinical staff.
  • Protect confidential patient information and comply with privacy requirements.
  • Support patient flow and operational needs throughout the practice and perform other appropriate duties within training and scope.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant training or comparable healthcare experience acceptable to the Company.
  • Minimum of one year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification required at hire.
  • Strong patient-service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow clinical protocols carefully.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CMA, RMA, CCMA, or another recognized Medical Assistant credential.
  • Plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, dermatology, or procedural medicine experience.
  • Ambulatory surgery experience.
  • Electronic medical record and clinical photography experience.
  • Inventory and supply-management experience.
Startup Expectations

As Drainless Aesthetic Institute grows, the Medical Assistant may assist with responsibilities outside the employee's routine duties. Clinical tasks will be performed only when permitted by applicable law and supported by the required training, competency, supervision, and authorization.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and room preparation.
  • Ability to move clinical equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to assist with patient mobility or positioning when trained and appropriate.
  • Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, disinfectants, medications, and other clinical hazards; appropriate PPE and infection-control precautions are required.
