Job summary

Comprehensive Primary Care Services in New York, NY is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support clinical and front-desk operations.

The ideal candidate must have a Medical Assistant certification, be fluent in English and Spanish, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and confidentiality skills.

Responsibilities include performing EKGs and patient treatments, scheduling, triage, charting, and coordinating with care managers to ensure timely, quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; accredited medical assistant program preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal communication with patients and colleagues.
• Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Firm grasp on medical practices and patient care procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical functions such as EKG, PFT, and nebulizer treatment to patients.
• Assist providers as may be required.
• Confirm and review patient appointments prior to visit.
• Confirm labs, imaging, and consults are available prior to appointment date.
• Check-out patients and assist with referral processing.
• Receive and initiate phone calls.
• Schedule appointments and recall patients accordingly.
• Obtain necessary patient information, update patient records, and ensure forms and consents are completed.
• Scan and file all signed documents appropriately.
• Triage all patients with guidelines, including vital signs and health history.
• Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments.
• Assist physicians with medical treatments, procedures, and exams.
• Work with Care Manager in continuation of care protocol.
• Manage monthly patient eligibility lists from Insurance companies.
• Participates in all QI initiatives and training.

• Triage all patients in line with established guidelines, including assessing vital signs, recording patients' health history and preparing patients for examination.
• Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments.
• Assist physicians with medical treatments, procedures, and exams.
• Work with Care Manager in continuation of care protocol.
• Manage the monthly patient eligibility lists from the Insurance companies.
• Participates in all QI initiatives and training.

Qualifications
