Job summary

OrthoArizona in Mesa, AZ is recruiting a Medical Assistant to join our orthopedic care team. This full-time position involves preparing patients for exams, managing EMR documentation, room setup, assisting in procedures, IV training, and supporting clinicians in examinations and treatments.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or MA program graduation, CPR certification, and at least 1 year of medical office experience, with EMA/ModMed EMR experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • At least one year of experience in a medical office.
  • 1+ year using an EMR with ModMed / EMA experience preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Modernizing medicine EMA EMR experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, including taking vitals and recording patient history.
  • Input and maintain appropriate EMR documentation.
  • Prepare examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, well-organized, and equipped with necessary supplies.
  • Assist in the procedure room with procedures, receive IV training and certification and start IVs.
  • Support physicians and nurses during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and monitoring voicemail and phone calls.
