Job summary

The Covenant Medical Group division of Providence in Texas is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support licensed practitioners and assist in patient care. The MA II performs all duties of MA I and handles clinical tasks per clinic policies.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, injections, medication administration, and ensuring patient comfort while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. This role requires prior MA experience and active BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program or ->
• Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• 6 months of Healthcare experience
• 6 months of Medical Assistant experience

The Medical Assistant II (MA II) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Medical Assistant (II) performs all aspects of the Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. A Medical Assistant (MA II) is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
