Job summary

Jobtailor is hiring a Medical Assistant to deliver direct patient care in an outpatient clinic. You will take vital signs, collect patient history, and assist with medical procedures while coordinating care through the EPIC EMR system.

Responsibilities include scheduling, processing medication requests, prior authorizations, and coordinating tests. After clinical competency, you may perform EKGs, labs, injections, and phlebotomy, with strong communication and organization essential, on-site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or MA program graduate with hands-on patient care.
• Experience as Medical Assistant in clinic/medical office required; direct patient care, vital signs, history, and clinical procedures.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience a plus; CPR/BLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and clinical support in outpatient clinic.
• Obtain vital signs, document patient history and medications, and manage patient flow.
• Manage EPIC EMR, schedule appointments, process medication requests, and handle prior authorizations.
• Coordinate tests and procedures; perform EKGs, labs, injections or phlebotomy after proven competency.
• Communicate clearly and stay organized to support providers and patient care.
• On-site presence required to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and clinical support within an outpatient clinic
• Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, reconciling medications, collecting patient history, and facilitating patient flow
• Additional duties involve managing the electronic health record (EPIC), scheduling appointments, processing medication requests, handling prior authorizations, and coordinating tests and procedures
• Upon successful completion of clinical competency, the role may also require performing EKGs, lab tests, injections, and/or phlebotomy
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to ensure efficient patient care and support for providers
• This role requires regular on-site presence to perform the essential job functions

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
• 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting required
• Experience must include direct, hands‑on patient care in a clinical setting, such as obtaining vital signs, documenting patient history and medications, and performing clinical procedures (e.g. EKG’s, phlebotomy, administering injections or vaccines)
• Or Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program, that includes hands‑on patient experience as part of the curriculum, required
• Basic computer skills, experience with EMR System a plus
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
• BAT and DOT certifications required for Medical Assistants in Occupational Medicine within 90 days of hire
• Preferred Qualifications for a Certified Medical Assistant: Current Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP
• Or graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current unrestricted licensure
