The ideal candidate combines strong clinical skills with meticulous documentation practices and a polished, patient-focused demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and room patients and record medical histories in the EMR system
  • Assist surgeons during cosmetic consultations, minor in-office procedures, and pre/post-operative appointments
  • Prepare patients for surgery by reviewing pre-operative instructions, confirming medical clearances, verifying consent forms, and ensuring all required lab work and documentation are complete prior to the procedure date
  • Conduct post-operative follow-up with patients via phone or in-person visits to assess healing, address concerns, reinforce care instructions, and escalated any complications to the supervising physician
  • Capture standardized before-and-after patient photos following practice protocols
  • Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care instructions and answer routine questions
  • Maintain sterile technique and prepare procedure trays, surgical instruments, and treatment rooms
  • Accurately document all patient encounters in the EMR, including treatment notes, medication lists, surgical histories, consent forms, and pre/post-operative checklists, ensuring records are HIPAA-compliant
  • Support physician documentation workflows by scribing provider notes, processing prior authorizations, and auditing charts for completeness prior to surgical dates
  • Manage medical supply inventory
  • Coordinate with front desk staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling
  • Comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable healthcare regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Demonstrated accuracy in clinical documentation and EMR data entry

  • Professional, patient-centered demeanor
