Job summary

Women’s Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across obstetrics and gynecology practices. You will prepare patients for exams, document vital signs and history, and assist providers during visits.

This role requires a CMA certification (or eligibility) within 120 days, CPR/BLS ideally, and familiarity with EMR systems such as eCW. A fast-paced, team-oriented environment with opportunities to grow in women’s health awaits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred or eligible for certification within 120 days.
• Current CPR and/or BLS preferred or able to obtain within 30 days via training.
• Experience in OBGYN or Primary Care is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and injections where applicable.
• Ability to perform dosage calculations and unit conversions.
• Strong communication and professional interaction with all levels of staff and patients.
• Proficient in computer use and EMR data entry (eCW).

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment and procedures.
• Record patients' medical history, vital signs, and chief complaints.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and specimen collection per policy.
• Maintain and sterilize examination rooms and equipment; restock as needed.
• Relay messages between patients, front desk staff, and providers.
• Represent the office professionally and contribute to team activities.
• Attend required meetings and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Prepares patients during office visits and assists patients and family members before, during and after a doctor’s visit.Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patients.Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures.Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.Measure, record, and document vital signs.Where applicable, perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider.Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.Sterilize medical instruments per established standards and procedures.Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers.Represent the office in a professional manner.
