Job summary

Forefront Dermatology in Kirkwood, MO is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the dermatologist during patient visits and ensure a friendly, efficient environment. You will room patients, scribe, and assist with post‑op wound care and procedures.

The role requires 1+ year medical office experience; CMA/LPN/RN credentials are preferred. Benefits include health/dental/vision, HSA matching, PTO/holidays, life insurance, 401(k) with profit sharing, and more.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a medical office preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus.
• In-date state certifications, licenses or registrations.
• Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting vital information.
• Scribing for the dermatologist during visits.
• Providing post-operative wound care.
• Drawing blood and suturing as needed.
• Cleaning and stocking exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies - punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
