Position Summary

Medical Assistant provides professional nursing care to patients according to established procedures, coordinates care planning in collaboration with other healthcare disciplines. This role is essential for ensuring the quality of patient care and supporting a safe and effective healthcare environment

Duties

• Adhere to departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety protocols, infection control standards, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
• Document patient care by writing initial nursing histories and conducting thorough assessments of patient conditions.
• Maintain accuracy in recording patient care documentation. Ensure that all required reports, records, and statistics are up to date.
• Create and sustain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in alignment with clinical standards.
• Maintain and manage patient records and charts to ensure an accurate history of medical treatment.
• Observe and report on the emotional and psychological stability of patients while demonstrating genuine interest in their progress.
• Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and other tasks related to direct patient care.
• Always demonstrate sensitivity and respect for patient comfort and privacy.
• Coordinate and arrange diagnostic and therapeutic services as ordered by physicians.
• Foster professional growth through active participation in educational programs, current literature, workshops, and in-service meetings.
• Attend and contribute to departmental meetings as required.
• Ensure the clinic has an adequate stock of medical supplies and that equipment is functioning properly.
• Collaborate with other nursing team members and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Orient, instruct, and train new or assigned personnel.
• Demonstrate competency and professionalism while providing patient care and fulfilling the responsibilities of the clinic nurse role.
• Always maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certificate (If new hire certifications are not complete or current, they will be completed within the first 6 months of hire or at the earliest opportunity (first class available).
• CPR certification.
• Prefer a minimum of one-year clinical experience.
