Job summary

Aloha Urgent Care in Waikīkī is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant who can provide compassionate patient care from check-in to check-out in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

You will support physicians during procedures, take vital signs, explain treatment options and fees, assist with billing and labs, and help maintain a clean, organized clinic environment. Additional language skills such as Spanish or Japanese are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of urgent care, primary care, or specialty clinic experience.
• Medical Assistant program certificate or bachelor’s degree in nursing or healthcare; or 2 years outpatient experience.
• Strong multitasking and effective communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in/check-out patients, measure vital signs, review history.
• Assist physicians in clinical procedures.
• Explain payment policies, diagnostic options and service fees.
• Record patient care and billing tasks; organize supplies.
• Maintain clinic hygiene and infection control.

Job description

Join our team at Aloha Urgent Care & Pain Clinic in Waikīkī. We are seeking an experienced, reliable Medical Assistant who can make a commitment to excellence in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate empathy toward patients from greeting to check-out
• Answer phone, online and in-person inquiries from patients and their family
• Explain the payment policy, the diagnostic and treatment options, and service fees
• Check-in patients by guiding them through registration, measurement of vital signs, and history of present illness
• Assist the physician in various clinical procedures
• Check-out patients by dispensing medications and supplies, faxing prescriptions, and arranging labs and imaging tests
• Collect payment from patients by using point-of-sale hardware and software
• Manage and document tasks pertaining to patient care, billing, and accounting
• Organize medical supplies
• Clean all spaces of the clinic to maintain order, hygiene and infection control

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in urgent care, primary care, or specialist clinic
• Certificate in a Medical Assistant Program, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or another healthcare field; otherwise, at least 2 years of outpatient clinical experience are required
• Multitasks in all administrative and clinical duties
• Communicates effectively with patients and other staff
• Speaks fluent English. Additional language skills in Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Spanish are preferred
