Providence Health & Services in Oregon is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the nursing team and primary care provider, performing both administrative and clinical tasks under supervision. Qualifications

• Completed an accredited Medical Assistant program that includes an externship or two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved phlebotomy program or other allied health program that includes phlebotomy training or phlebotomy training completed within 60 days of hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association required upon hire.
• National Medical Assistant Certification required upon hire.
• At least 6 months healthcare experience.
• At least 6 months Medical Assistant experience.

The Medical Assistant works collaboratively with the nursing team and primary care provider (PCP) to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned participants. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. A MA is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training Has completed an accredited Medical Assistant program that includes an externship or has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces. Or equivalent educ/experience
• Coursework/Training Completion of an approved phlebotomy program or other allied health program that includes phlebotomy training in its curriculum or phlebotomy training completed within 60 days of hire.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification
• 6 months Healthcare experience
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience
