Job summary

Desert Cardiology & Vascular Center, a fast-paced cardiology practice, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant who thrives in a clinical setting and understands cardiovascular terminology.

Ideal candidates are reliable, fast typists (45+ WPM), proficient with EMRs, and detail-oriented. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Certification as CMA/RMA is preferred but not required; cardiology experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, cardiology preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical and cardiovascular terminology.
• Proficient typing speed (45+ WPM) and EMR proficiency.
• CMA/RMA certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vitals, medical history, and medication lists.
• Assist with EKGs, stress tests, Holter monitor setups, and other cardiology-specific procedures.
• Document clinical notes and provider dictations in the EMR system.
• Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments.
• Support providers during in-office procedures.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and ensure equipment is stocked and sterilized.
• Communicate test instructions, results, and follow-up care to patients.
• Provide excellent customer service in a busy clinical environment.

The ideal candidate will be a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant with prior experience in a cardiology setting. Must be a fast and accurate typist, comfortable navigating EMRs, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vitals, medical history, and medication lists
• Assist with EKGs, stress tests, Holter monitor setups, and other cardiology-specific procedures
• Accurately document clinical notes and provider dictations in the EMR system
