Job summary

Community Health Centers of America seeks a full-time Medical Assistant for the Gustine Specialty clinic. The role combines back-office clinical support with front-office administrative tasks and a schedule of Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri 8am-5pm and Wed 9am-6pm.

Travel to nearby sites may be required for training or staffing support. The ideal candidate has MA certification, BLS, 2 years MA experience, and bilingual Spanish is preferred; strong organizational and communication skills are essential for

Qualifications

  • 2 years Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Multi-specialty experience preferred.
  • FQHC experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Bilingual Spanish fluency preferred.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to needs of the clinic.
  • Willingness to travel to other site, when needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Reception, answer phones and schedule appointments.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and coordinate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures.
  • Assist patients with registration forms and maintain accurate files and medical records.
  • Perform data entry related to patient billing, transcription, and insurance claims.
  • Arrange for referrals.
  • Process prescription requests.
  • Track inventory and supplies.
  • Measure and record vital signs, patient interview, history and chief complaint.
  • Provide patient education on medication, disease management, home treatment and special diets.
  • Prepare patients for examination and perform routine screening tests and assist healthcare providers with exams.
  • Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens, perform basic lab tests and EKGs, assist with x-rays and procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications with healthcare provider's authorization.
  • Change dressing, apply bandages, remove sutures, perform CPR and other first aid procedures.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment, stock and sterile instruments.

CHCA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team at our Gustine Specialty clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility with back office clinical support and front office administrative support, as needed. The regular work schedule will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8am-5pm and Wednesday 9am-6pm. Primarily will work at this site and may be asked to go to nearby sites for training or staffing support.

Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties:
  • Reception, answer phones and schedule appointments
