Job summary

Humana Inc. through CenterWell Senior Primary Care seeks a Medical Assistant to be the first point of contact, handling clinical tasks and administrative duties onsite in Greer, SC.

You will support physicians and advanced practice providers, document in the electronic medical records system, and help maintain a safe, welcoming exam environment. You will perform vital signs, assist with vaccinations, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic patient education, while adhering to policy,

Qualifications

  • Completion of MA school/training program or CMA/RMA or 5+ years experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical tasks: discuss symptoms, obtain vital signs, administer medications and vaccines
  • Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and conduct diagnostic screening tests
  • Sterilize and clean equipment, maintain examination rooms, and document information into the EHR
  • Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers
  • Deliver direct patient care within the scope allowed by active certification

Job description

Become a part of our caring community As a Medical Assistant, reporting to Supervisor, Central Administration, you will be the first contact for patient care, responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. Working onsite, you will perform varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. You will typically work on semi-routine assignments. As a Medical Assistant, you will: Perform Clinical responsibilities include discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, and administering medications and vaccines. Additional responsibilities involve performing phlebotomy, collecting specimens, and conducting diagnostic screening tests. Sterilize and cleaning equipment, maintaining examination rooms, and documenting information into the electronic medical records system. Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows. Decisions typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Work within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but have latitude over prioritization/timing. Follow standard procedures that allow opportunity for interpretation/deviation. Use your skills to make an impact

Required Qualifications
  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Certified
Preferred Qualifications
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience 1+ years MA experience
  • Value-based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam before foreign language communication

Additional Information TB Statement: This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Scheduled Weekly Hours 40

Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $43,000 - $56,200 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
