Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care under physician and nursing supervision. You will compile medical data, enter it into the EHR, assist in exam rooms, record vital signs, and locate past records as requested.
You will also support clerical research tasks, assist with appointments, maintain clinical computer systems, and help coordinate prescriptions. A BS in biology or related field is preferred, with strong customer service skills.
Clean and stock exam rooms ensuring equipment and supplies are available
Assists with chart and document preparation for patient appointments.
Developed and maintain competency on clinical computer systems
Assist with prescription dissemination by reviewing chart for required information and calling\\faxing pharmacy once physician approval is obtained
Perform miscellaneous medical records and other clerical duties as a signs
Assist supervisor, nurse and physician secretary as requested
Assist in obtaining necessary prior authorization for prescribed treatments
Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry or another related field.
Prefer individuals with intention to enroll in pre‑med, pre‑PA, or other health‑related educational programs.
Patient centered, strong customer service orientation.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines and troubleshoot and resolve problems.
Ability to work independently, exhibit mature judgment and make sound decisions.
Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9/CPT coding.
Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion.
Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
