HCA Healthcare, Inc. in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and clinic operations. This full-time role involves preparing patients for exams, room setup, injections, phlebotomy, and assisting physicians with minor procedures.

The position emphasizes teamwork and high-quality patient care, with no nights, weekends, or holidays. Prior MA program completion or current CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA/ABR-OE credentials are preferred.

Formación

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program or equivalent clinical experience.
• Certification as CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA/ABR-OE preferred
• Active certification in MA field preferred within 1 year if not certified at hire.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies and equipment including sterilization.
• Assist with injections, lab testing, and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures and physicals.
• Answer calls and screen referrals for the practice.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Full time (Monday - Friday, days), no nights, no on call, no weekends, no holidays

*Shift: 7-10 hour days*

Seeking a Medical Assistant for our Gainesville GME Clinic, who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. What will you do in this role

• You will prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• You will prepare exam and treatment rooms with the necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• You will give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
• You will assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
• You will answer telephone calls to the practice and screen for referral

What Qualifications you will need

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program OR twelve months of direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting OR current Medical Assistant certification
• Candidates with one year of Medical work experience who do not possess Medical Assistant Certification must obtain Certification within one year of hire date
• Medical Assistants who recently graduated from a Medical Assisting training program will obtain a clinical MA certification within 60 days of employment
• Active and unrevoked RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA certification/ABR-OE credentials is highly preferred

• Certified Medical Assistant, or NHA Cert Clinical Medical Assistant, or NAHP Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant, or AMT Registered Medical Assistant, or ABR-OE Assess Based Rec in Order Entry must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
