Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time daytime role in Bradenton, FL. You will prepare patients for examinations, collect histories and vital signs, assist with injections, phlebotomy, and minor procedures, and support clinic operations.

The position requires MA certification and at least 1 year of clinical experience; new grads must certify within 60 days. Excellent team environment and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Medical Assistant Certification – required. Acceptable certifications are RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ABR-OE credentials is acceptable.
• Medical Assistants who recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from a Medical Assisting training program must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 60 days of employment.
• Candidates/incumbents with one year of Medical Assistant work experience who do not possess Medical Assistant Certification must obtain Medical Assistant Certification within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• You will prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs.
• You will prepare exam and treatment rooms with the necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
• You will give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• You will assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• You will answer telephone calls to the practice and screens for referral.
