Job summary

Valley Health’s WMH PEDS RHC in Front Royal is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians, perform MA tasks, and educate patients during visits.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of clinical experience or MA certification, and BLS certification; additional training in specialty-specific assisting is desired.

Job DescriptionUnder the supervision of the physician or advanced practice clinician (NP or PA), performs Medical Assistant specific tasks, and assesses and educates patients.
EducationHigh School Diploma or GED required
ExperienceOne year of experience in a clinical setting or completion of a Medical Assistant certification program required
Training in specialty-specific assisting desired
Certification & LicensureBLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required. New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
QualificationsMust possess good communication skills.
Competent to provide care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
Knowledge of the basic principles of human growth and development.
Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs which may apply, based on age of the patient served.
