Platinum Dermatology Partners in Frisco, TX seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced clinic. Responsibilities include patient prep, histories, and assisting physicians with procedures to deliver exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in a medical office, with dermatology experience preferred and strong communication skills. This is a full-time on-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for assessment.
• Enter patient histories and medications into the chart.
• Assist physician in room and document notes.
• Prepare biopsies, excisions, sutures, and cosmetic procedures support.
• Handle lab specimens and schedule follow-ups.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and sterilization.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

• Escort patients to and from the exam room, preparing the patient for their examination.
• Enter complete medical histories along with patients’ current medications into the chart.
• Assist the Physician/Provider in the room by scribing the notes in the patient’s medical record.
• Assist with setting up biopsies, excisions, suture removals, and cosmetic procedures.
• Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Daily cleaning and organizing exam rooms, along with stocking the rooms.
• Laboratory maintenance that includes cleaning and autoclaving instruments.
• Other duties as assigned to the back office.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
• Medical Assistant training is required.

Qualifications:

• Must have 2-3years of experience working in a medical office as a medical assistant.
• Prior Dermatology and cosmetic experience is preferred.
• Quality written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Strong phone etiquette.
• Teamwork.
• Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
• Able to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with others, patients, and co-workers.
• Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working on electronic medical records.

Equipment Operated:Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Physical Requirements:Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
