Job summary

Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Freehold, NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers by coordinating patient flow, taking histories and vitals, and assisting during visits.

The role involves documenting in E-clinical Works, handling lab results and prescriptions, and ensuring confidentiality while delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • Minimum 1 Year of Medical Assistant Experience.
  • Minimum High School Degree or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Accompany provider in room during patient visit.
  • Scribe in E-clinical works including history, ROS, exam findings, assessment and plan.
  • Document results of laboratory and radiographic studies as discussed by the provider.
  • Refill any patient prescriptions as directed by the provider.
  • Enter orders for procedures or labs as directed by the provider.
  • Coordinate multiple projects and patients and solve problems under pressure.
  • Communicate and interact professionally with others.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient data per HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintains exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials; ensures cleanliness.
  • Prepares equipment and assists the physician during treatment, examination, and testing.
  • Observe, record and report patient condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
  • Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and maintenance.
  • Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination; screens for information.
  • Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
  • Assess patient needs and suggests solutions to patient care problems.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Enter billing information as determined by the type of office visit.
  • Report improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to supervisor.
  • Follow OSHA regulations.
  • Interact with physicians and other departments to resolve problems.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee and clinic information.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness.
  • Prepares equipment and assist the physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Observe, record and report patient s condition and reaction to the drugs and treatments to physicians. Educates patient /family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and maintenance

  • Regularly interacts with Physicians and other departments in order to identify and resolve problems

Requirements
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Minimum 1 Year of Medical Assistant Experience
  • Minimum High School Degree or GED equivalent
