Job summary

CenterWell Senior Primary Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to be the first contact for patient care, performing both administrative and clinical duties onsite. You will support physicians and staff in patient encounters, manage vital signs, phlebotomy where certified, and document in the EMR.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to care protocols, and flexible prioritization within semi-routine tasks. Requires MA training or certification and CPR, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical responsibilities including discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, and administering medications and vaccines.
  • Sterilize and clean equipment, maintain examination rooms, and document information in the EMR.
  • Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Deliver direct patient care within certification scope.
  • Adhere to policies and prioritize tasks within defined parameters.
  • Follow standard procedures allowing interpretation/deviation.

As a Medical Assistant, You Will
  • Perform Clinical responsibilities include discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, and administering medications and vaccines. Additional responsibilities involve performing phlebotomy, collecting specimens, and conducting diagnostic screening tests.
  • Sterilize and cleaning equipment, maintaining examination rooms, and documenting information into the electronic medical records system.
  • Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows.
  • Decisions typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments.
  • Work within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has latitude over prioritization/timing.
  • Follow standard procedures that allow opportunity for interpretation/deviation.
Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • 1+ years MA experience
  • Value-based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam before foreign language communication
Additional Information

This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$43,000 - $56,200 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
