Job summary

Forefront Dermatology in the United States is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our dermatologist during patient visits and maintain a friendly, efficient clinic environment. The role involves rooming patients, documenting vital information, scribing for the dermatologist, and assisting with procedures.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in a medical office, CMA/LPN/RN credentials, and strong computer skills with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office is preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant or RN/LPN credentials preferred; Derm Tech certification a plus.
• Must maintain state certifications/licenses/registrations to continue employment.
• Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post-op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assist dermatologist with procedures (biopsies, Mohs, injections, etc.).

• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy

• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
