About the Practice:

We are a specialized Orofacial Pain practice in beautiful Encinitas, CA, dedicated to providing expert care in the diagnosis and management of TMJ disorders, facial pain, headaches, and related conditions. Our team is committed to offering compassionate, patient-centered treatment in a calm and professional environment.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Assistant to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of clinical workflows, and the ability to provide exceptional patient care. As the MA, you will play a key role in supporting the provider, overseeing back-office operations, and ensuring clinical efficiency and compliance. This postion with support both Encinitas and Vista office locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily clinical operations and medical assistant staff
  • Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and pain assessments
  • Assist the provider during patient exams and procedures
  • Knowledge about medical insurance groups and authorization processes.
  • Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked and sanitized
  • Manage patient flow to maximize efficiency and reduce wait times
  • Serve as a liaison between the clinical team and front office staff to ensure cohesive communication
  • Perform patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
  • Train new medical assistants and provide ongoing support and mentorship
  • Support administrative duties as needed, including scheduling follow-ups and managing referrals

Qualifications:

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a medical assistant, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role
  • Experience in pain management, dental, or ENT/Orofacial specialty is highly desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency with EMR systems; knowledge of Athena Health or similar a plus
  • CPR/BLS certification required

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, typical hours between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to change based on provider schedule)
