Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam.
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure.
  • Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing.
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance per written instructions.
  • Respond to lab messages and call back requests.
  • Perform drug screening procedures in accordance with rules and regulations.
  • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered per approved procedure.
  • Conduct physician referrals and service pre-certifications as needed.
  • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
