Job summary

ExpressCare Urgent Care Centers in Eldersburg, MD is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support providers and ensure a smooth patient experience. The role involves triage, EMR documentation, vital signs, basic lab procedures, and patient education in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Requirements include completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, CPR certification, and at least one year of clinical experience preferred. Competitive hourly pay and full benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and clinical externship is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification preferred.
• Minimum one year of clinical experience in a physician’s office or hospital preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• High level of professionalism and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Medical history intake and detailed triage with EMR documentation.
• Vital signs measurement including BP, pulse, temperature, height and weight.
• Perform simple lab procedures (EKG, phlebotomy, urine samples, nasal swabs).
• Prepare and administer medications under physician supervision.
• Set up exam rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Educate patients on discharge papers and medications prescribed.
• Complete checklists, inventory, and logs; handle administrative tasks.

Job Title: Full-Time Medical Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

• Medical history intake: Perform a detailed triage and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Vital sign measurement: Measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and height/weight
• Basic lab procedures: Perform simple laboratory tests such as EKGs, phlebotomy, urine specimen collection, and influenza nasal swabs
• Medication administration: Prepare and administer oral and injectable medications under physician supervision
• Exam room preparation: Setup exam rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
• Patient Education: Provide patients with basic health information and instructions regarding discharge papers and medications given by the provider
• Administrative tasks: Accurately complete checklists, inventory, and other written logs
• Education:
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and clinical externship (Required)
• Licenses & Certifications:
• CMA, RMA, or CCMA Certification preferred

• Work Experience:
• Minimum one year of clinical experience in a physician’s office or hospital (preferred)
