Job summary

ExpressCare Urgent Care Centers in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support providers and ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role involves triage, vital signs, basic lab work, medication administration, and patient education. Requires completion of an accredited MA program, CPR, and preferably CMA/RMA/CCMA certification, with at least one year of clinical experience. Competitive hourly pay and full benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and clinical externship (Required)
• CPR Certification (Required)
• CMA, RMA, or CCMA Certification preferred
• Minimum one year of clinical experience in a physician’s office or hospital (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Medical history intake: Detailed triage and EMR documentation
• Vital signs: Measure and record BP, HR, temp, height/weight
• Basic lab procedures: EKGs, phlebotomy, urine collection, influenza swabs
• Medication administration under physician supervision
• Exam room preparation and supply setup
• Patient education regarding discharge, medications and care
• Administrative tasks: complete checklists, inventory, logs

Job Responsibilities:

• Medical history intake: Perform a detailed triage and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Vital sign measurement: Measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and height/weight
• Basic lab procedures: Perform simple laboratory tests such as EKGs, phlebotomy, urine specimen collection, and influenza nasal swabs
• Medication administration: Prepare and administer oral and injectable medications under physician supervision
• Exam room preparation: Setup exam rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
• Patient Education: Provide patients with basic health information and instructions regarding discharge papers and medications given by the provider
• Administrative tasks: Accurately complete checklists, inventory, and other written logs
• Education:
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and clinical externship (Required)
• Licenses & Certifications:
• CMA, RMA, or CCMA Certification preferred

• Work Experience:
• Minimum one year of clinical experience in a physician’s office or hospital (preferred)

• Ability to work 13+ hour shifts, stand/walk for long periods, and lift 25 lbs.

• Competitive hourly pay: $17 - $20, plus opportunities for overtime
