Job summary

Driscoll-Children seeks a diligent Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care teams. You will assist healthcare providers, perform basic phlebotomy, vital signs, and clerical duties, while maintaining patient records and safety standards.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, accredited Medical Assistant training, and current BLS; CMA or RMA certification should be pursued within two years of hire, with strong patient-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Take and document vital signs and measurements according to protocol.
• Perform venipuncture and point-of-care tests as allowed.
• Greet patients, schedule appointments, and handle clerical tasks.
• Process insurance forms and pre-authorizations.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures; maintain patient records.
• Maintain infection control and safety practices in care delivery.
• Provide health teaching and counseling as directed by medical provider.

Provides developmentally appropriate care for the ages of patients served. Perform a variety of routine and specialized tasks.Specific job duties include: Performs and documents vital signs and physical measurements in an age appropriate manner.
