Job summary

St. Paul’s PACE in El Cajon, CA is hiring a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support the PACE program. Under RN supervision, you will take vital signs, prepare participants for visits, and assist clinicians.

You will also handle injections, blood draws, INR tests and ensure efficient clinic flow while documenting activities in the EHR. Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse participants. The role requires Medical Assistant Certification and at least one year working with frail elderly

Qualifications

• Education: Medical Assistant Certification.
• Experience: Minimum of one year's experience with frail elderly population.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs of participants.
• Escort participants to exam rooms and prepare for visits.
• Assist providers (physicians and nurses) in treatment.
• Ensure clinic flow and timely visits.
• Administer injections, perform blood draws, INR tests, finger sticks and specimen collection.
• Enter daily activities into the electronic health record (EHR).
• Provide Spanish/English translation when needed.

Job description

San Diego's St. Paul's PACE program (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly). This innovative program is for individuals 55 years or older, who are living with chronic illness, or disabilities and need coordinated medical care to continue living as independently as possible in their home and community. The healthcare teams at St. Paul's PACE provide a hands-on approach coordinating medical, social, and home care services so individuals no longer need to manage their medical care alone.

This is a Full-Time position in our El Cajon clinic location. The typical schedule will be Monday -Friday from 8:00AM - 4:30PM.

Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Clinic Manager (Registered Nurse),takes vital signs of participants of St. Paul's PACE. Escorts participants to examrooms, and prepares participants to be seen in the clinic and assists providersphysician and nurses in treatment. Ensures clinic flow for participant/providervisits is efficient and on time. Ensures exam rooms are prepared for provider useand stocked with appropriate supplies. Administers injections, does blood draws,INR's, finger sticks, and obtains specimens. Responsible for entering all dailyactivities into electronic health record. Is also able to provide Spanish/English translation when needed.

Qualification & Requirements:

• Education - Medical Assistant Certification
• Experience - A minimum of one year's experience in working with the frail orelderly population required. Shall have either training or related experience in thejob assigned.
• Bilingual preferred.
