Job summary

Conviva Senior Primary Care in the United States is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in a busy primary care setting.

You will perform administrative and clinical tasks, manage patient flow, document in EHR/EMR, and participate in quality measures while delivering excellent patient service.

Qualifications

• Must have a Medical Assistant diploma or certificate.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• 1+ year of back-office Medical Assistant experience.
• Experience with HEDIS and ICD/CPT coding is preferred.
• Hands-on phlebotomy experience is a plus.
• Experience with EMR/EHR in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type.
• Manage the provider's schedule to ensure efficient workflow.
• Obtain and record medical history and vital signs.
• Room patients and healthcare providers with procedures.
• Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Prepare and administer medications under supervision.
• Document in EHR/EMR including HEDIS/Stars quality measures.
• Maintain established quality control standards.

Job Functions

• Prepare and administer medications under the direction of healthcare providers
• Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures
• Maintain established quality control standards.

Required Qualifications

• Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a Medical Assisting program
• Current CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish proficiency
• An active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations:
• 1) American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• 2) Allied American Health (AAH)
• 3) American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• 4) American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) * Foreign Medical and Nurses
• 5) National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP)
• 6) National Association of Healthcare Technicians (NAHT)
• 7) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• 8) National Health career Association (NHA)
• 9) Medical Career Assessments (MedCA)
• 1 or more years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care
• Experience with HEDIS and ICD/CPT coding
• Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records
• Experience in a fast paced/high volume environment.

Working hours

Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$43,000 - $56,200 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
