Job summary

Frontier is hiring a Medical Assistant to educate members on using their membership and to work with paired PCPs to deliver high-quality care. You will perform vitals, ECGs, phlebotomy, IVs, and assist with in-office procedures in a clinic setting.

The role requires experience with EHR/EMR systems, at least 2 years as MA, BLS or ability to obtain, and bilingual Spanish/English communication skills. Join our patient-centered team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Experience working in a clinic setting.
• Experience providing care to all ages, including pediatrics.
• Proficient at performing ECG/EKGs, phlebotomy, IVs, and injections (SC/IM). Onsite skills assessment required.
• Extensive experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems.
• Active BLS certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Educate and empower members on how to use their membership inside and outside Frontier.
• Work with paired PCPs to provide quality care and service to assigned patient panel.
• Coordinate and anticipate provider needs related to patient care to set up success.
• Coordinate with contracted outside service providers (imaging, labs, or specialists).
• Perform vitals, lab testing, EKGs, phlebotomy and IV procedures.
• Assist providers with in-office procedures to ensure smooth patient care.
• Welcome members to the clinic and reassure them with attentive care.
• Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure members feel cared for and supported.
• Communicate with patients by phone, text, and email to customize their experience.
• Restock exam rooms and manage inventory; maintain cleanliness and organization in the clinic.
• Represent the medical facility at community events, health fairs, and outreach programs.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Educate and empower members on how they can use their membership inside and outside of Frontier
• Be on a team! Work with your paired PCP’s to provide quality care and service to your mutually assigned patient panel
• Coordinate and anticipate provider needs related to patient care to set the provider and patient up for success.

• Perform vitals, lab testing, EKGs, phlebotomy and IV procedures
• Assist providers with in office procedures to ensure smooth and efficient patient care
• Welcome all members to the clinic - healthcare can be scary, but your attention to detail lets them know they are in good hands
• Conduct regular follow ups to ensure members feel cared for and know that YOU “got their back” in the complicated medical system
• Customize the member experience by communicating directly with your patients by phone, text, and email
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to restock exam rooms and manage inventory of supplies, instruments and equipment in the lab. Perform daily housekeeping tasks to maintain cleanliness and organization in the clinic
• Represent the medical facility at community events, health fairs, and outreach programs to promote services and educate the public

• Proficient at performing a variety of tasks including electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG), phlebotomy, IVs, and injections (SC and IM). An onsite skills assessment is required as part of our recruitment process.
• Extensive experience working with a variety of Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems
• Active BLS certification or to ability to obtain
• Bilingual (Spanish/English)
• Adaptable and open to change in process and technology
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with healthcare providers
