Job summary

HCA Florida Miami-Dade Surgical Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, daytime schedule (Mon-Fri). The role supports clinicians to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care. The team emphasizes collaboration and continuous learning, with emphasis on patient interaction and accurate clinical support.

Ideal candidates have completed an accredited MA program or have clinical care experience, with certification within a year. Bilingual skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program or twelve months of direct clinical patient care experience.
• Certification within one year of hire if not certified at start date.
• Active and unrevoked MA certifications preferred (e.g., RMA/CCMA/CMA/NCMA/NCRMA/ABR-OE).
• Bilingual English and Spanish highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms with instruments and maintain supplies/equipment incl. sterilization.
• Administer injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians in minor surgeries and physicals preparation.
• Answer calls and screen referrals for the practice.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Full time (Monday - Friday, days), no nights, no on call, no weekends, no holidays

Seeking a Medical Assistant for our Miami-Dade Surgical Specialists practice who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

What will you do in this role:

• You will prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• You will prepare exam and treatment rooms with the necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• You will give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy
• You will assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
• You will answer telephone calls to the practice and screen for referral

What Qualifications you will need:

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program OR twelve months of direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting OR current Medical Assistant certification
• Candidates with one year of Medical work experience who do not possess Medical Assistant Certification must obtain Certification within one year of hire date
• Medical Assistants who recently graduated from a Medical Assisting training program will obtain a clinical MA certification within 60 days of employment
• Active and unrevoked RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA certification/ABR-OE credentials is highly preferred

• Certified Medical Assistant, or NHA Cert Clinical Medical Assistant, or NAHP Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant, or AMT Registered Medical Assistant, or ABR-OE Assess Based Rec in Order Entry must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Bilingual English and Spanish highly preferred
