Job summary

Orthopedic-Centers-of-Colorad seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to assist physicians with patient care and to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced clinic.

This role supports rooming patients, processing orders, entering data, and educating patients on treatment plans, while maintaining a clean, organized exam area and adherence to protocols. Prior experience with Allscripts and BLS is preferred; Monday to Friday schedule may apply.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with BLS certification.
  • Minimum 1 year as a medical assistant preferred.
  • Strong patient service focus and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Basic rooming and creating surgery/x-ray orders.
  • Phreesia/MIPS input and record keeping.
  • Maintain supplies, prepare and clean exam rooms.
  • Assist physician during minor in-office procedures.
  • Enter initial consultations, notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports.
  • Educate patients on policies, medications, and home care.
  • Ensure all consent forms are completed and filed.
  • Respond to calls/messages and assist with scheduling.
  • Assist phone room with rescheduling patients.
  • OSHA sign-off lists.

Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible for assisting physicians with basic patient care and providing unparallel customer service to patients while adhering to established protocols, processes and volume without ever compromising quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Basic rooming, along with creating surgery orders & x-ray orders
  • Phreesia/MIPS Input
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, prepare and clean exam/procedure rooms, stocking and sterilizing instruments ensuring patient rooms are stocked, cleaned, and presentable
  • Assist physician as needed during minor in office procedure
  • Ensure all initial consultations, pertinent notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports are entered in the patient’s file and available to the physician prior to patient arrival
  • Provide patient education with regards to office policies, medications, management of pain/injury/disease, home treatments and special diets using appropriate medical terminology as directed by the physician
  • Ensure all consent forms are completed, signed and filed
  • Respond to patient / physician / pharmacy calls calls/messages and assist with their needs
  • Assist phone room with rescheduling patients
  • OSHA sign off lists
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 1 years working as a medical assistant preferred
  • Strong focus on patient quality and customer service
  • Excellent follow through to see tasks to completion
  • Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Possesses a high degree of self-motivation and produces high quality work with minimal supervision

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • Experience with Allscripts

  • Hours of business are Monday – Friday. Must be able to work early, late and long hours, as needed, to meet the essential functions of the job
