Job summary

Job Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant is a vital role to the pain clinic. The Medical Assistant will utilize both clinical and administrative tasks to help clinicians in the pain clinic. Daily responsibilities include checking-in patients, assisting the physician before/during/after procedures, in addition to various administrative tasks such as conducting prior authorizations and documenting medical information into the electronic medical records (EMR) system. The Medical Assistant must be attentive to patient needs and communicate any potential issues to staff. The Medical Assistant identifies patient needs, provides safe and professional care, and communicates any needs to the provider. The Medical Assistant will have to demonstrate professionalism and tact during difficult patient situations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Physical activity can be irregular and fast-paced, regularly.
• Must possess sufficient eye-hand coordination/manual dexterity to operate medical and office equipment.
• Required normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports and evaluations.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds with no assistance.
