The Medical Assistant assists providers and nurses with patient care, initiates patient flow, maintains the environmental areas of the clinic and examination rooms, entries into patient charts through EHR, assists with telephoning. We do on the job Training! Bilingual preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • COVID-19 Vaccinations
  • Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of adult and/or pediatric office practice
  • Electronic Health Records experience helpful
  • Must have valid driver's license, insurance, and transportation to other clinics as needed

COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of adult and/or pediatric office practice
  • Moderate proficiency with medical equipment
  • Moderate proficiency with computer
  • High proficiency in telephone skill
  • Ability to speak and write fluently in English; Spanish desirable
  • Average numerical and verbal capacity
  • Interest in work involving considerable contact with people
  • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain high level of organization
  • Ability to handle most setbacks with calmness and ease
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Moderate physical exertion including frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching and carrying moderately heavy loads (up to 25 lbs.)
  • Ability to work in conditions that include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissues, contagious diseases and/or other potentially hazardous materials
  • Fine motor coordination sufficient to perform manipulative skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to deliver medical services and use equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be passionate about a career in the healthcare field that offers on the job training and direct patient care!

  • Prepares patient for examination, takes height, weight, blood pressure and other measurements as applicable
  • Takes initial medical information including medication history
  • Assists in performing waived laboratory tests
  • Makes correct entries in patient charts and checks appointment dates
  • Assists patients to examination rooms, lab and restrooms
  • Restocks and straightens exam rooms
  • Performs quality assurance on glucometers
  • Makes copies and faxes documents as requested
  • Performs other duties as required

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 8 to 10 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Proposed salary range: $31,200 to $40,000
