Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved Medical Assistant Education program.
• Certified or Registered MA or equivalent credential.
• Prior Medical Assistant experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones in a timely, professional manner and forward calls or take messages as appropriate.
• Demonstrate proper charting of patients and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Assist doctor with office exams and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic first aid.
• Perform vitals, exam room prep, aseptic techniques, patients’ rights and ethics, venipuncture, and specimen collection.

What you will do as a WMCHC Medical Assistant:

• Answer phones in a timely, professional manner. Forward calls or takes detailed messages as appropriate.
• Demonstrate proper and accurate charting of patients and procedures.
• Demonstrate effective knowledge of medical terminology and medical abbreviations.
• Cooperatively assist doctor with office exams and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic first aid.
• Appropriately perform/demonstrate knowledge and/or use of vitals, exam room preparation, medical/surgical aseptic techniques, patients’ rights and ethics, venipuncture, collecting specimens, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
