Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to keep the day running smoothly for patients and the clinical team.

You will lead in chart preparation, greet patients, and record vital signs, assisting providers and ensuring accurate information. You may draw blood, prepare specimens for analysis, and administer meds or vaccines as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update patient charts for daily visits.
• Greet and prepare patients for the healthcare provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, medications, presenting problem).
• May draw blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• May administer prescribed medications or vaccines by various routes.
• May perform routine tests including EKGs.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.

Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.

Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
• May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• May administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
• May perform routine tests including but not limited to EKG’s.

Job Requirements

• High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
• High School GED General Studies, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Preferred

• <0 or greater than 1 year of experience preferred, upon hire
