Job Overview: A busy, high-volume surgical subspecialty practice in the Washington, DC area is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Medical Assistant / Surgical Assistant. This full-time, paid position offers hands-on clinical experience in a dynamic and fast-paced outpatient surgical setting. We welcome applications from recent graduates and students in a gap year who are pursuing careers in medicine or physician assistant studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare examination and procedure rooms; ensure all instruments and supplies are ready
• Interview patients to obtain medical history and reason for visit
• Assist the physician with examinations, minor procedures, and in-office surgeries
• Scribe and document clinical notes in our electronic medical record (ModMed)
• Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Respond to patient inquiries via phone and coordinate follow-up care
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical spaces
• Sterilize instruments and follow infection control protocols
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and report issues for repair
• Relay physician instructions and provide post-operative care education to patients
• Uphold professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• Additional administrative and clinical support as needed
