Job summary

Avita Care Solutions is seeking a Medical Assistant for a clinic-based role in Midtown Atlanta, GA. The position supports a dedicated provider both telephonically and in person with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, no weekends.

The job involves triage, vital signs, injections, record updates, and appointment coordination while upholding our equity-first care model and high professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant required
  • One or more years as a Medical Assistant or related experience
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Experience with long-acting injectable medications preferred
  • Infectious Disease or HIV care experience preferred
  • Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication
  • Spanish bilingual is highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent phone etiquette
  • Familiarity with eClinicalWorks preferred
  • Positive attitude, energetic and flexible

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the provider to care for the assigned patient panel

Job description

The Medical Assistant works as part of a collaborative team with their assigned provider and other members of the clinical team to manage the care of their assigned patient panel. This dynamic role provides comprehensive, compassionate care, both telephonic and in person.

This is a clinic-based position located in the Midtown area of Atlanta, GA. (2140 Peachtree Rd).

The role offers a consistent Monday - Friday work schedule with no weekends or holidays. General work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

About the Role:
  • Collaborate with the provider to care for the assigned patient panel
  • Triage patient needs by administering diagnostic testing and measuring/recording vital signs
  • Performs medication administration and reconciliation
  • Manages patient flow by updating patient medical records
  • Communicate and facilitates preventive health care needs
  • Maintaining examination rooms preparedness by restocking medications, supplies and equipment as needed
  • Assist with answering incoming phone calls and scheduling appointments
  • Embrace and perform in the spirit of the company’s core values and goals
  • Additional responsibilities assigned as needed
About You:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher preferred, especially in a related health field
  • One or more years as a Medical Assistant or related experience
  • Certified Medical Assistant required
  • Must have a current BLS Certification
  • Experience administering long-acting injectable medications is strongly preferred
  • Experienced in Infectious Disease or HIV Care
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to promote optimal patient care
  • Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish is highly preferred
  • Strong MS Office computer skills with the ability to type 30+ wpm
  • Familiarity with eClinicalWorks preferred
  • Must have a positive attitude, be energetic and flexible, have excellent phone etiquette, and provide exceptional customer service
